Yoga and Meditation Retreat at the Mattole Camp and Retreat Center

This will be my third retreat at the sweet and rustic Mattole Camp and Retreat Center!

When: we will gather on Friday, August 13th and the retreat will end on Sunday, August 15th in the afternoon.

The Place: the retreat center is just a quarter mile past the A.W.Way Campground on the banks of the Mattole River just outside of Petrolia with a swimming hole that is large enough to actually swim in!

The Accommodations: modest, clean and simple bunkhouses or lodge rooms. Tent camping is available as well.

Food: 6 enticing organic, local, vegetarian and gourmet meals prepared by Nancy Morelli, owner of Right On Thyme personal chef service and formerly with Folie Douce.

What will happen: morning and evening meditations and plenty of yoga woven into each day. There will be open space for you to be quiet, explore, swim, nap, be with others or alone, to read, to nourish, to heal. Since there is no staff we help in the kitchen with food prep and clean up. This builds community and friendships.

Cost: All inclusive weekend $350 per person

YOGA RETREATS

Ah! The beauty of a retreat is in the word itself. To leave behind all the cares and concerns of daily life and enter into a field of holding and comfort where one can focus on nurturing the inner life.

All the subtleties of our existence that get drowned out in the noise and distraction of living in the world can come to the forefront. Our hearts can awaken as we join with others who are interested in the same: to open up, slow down, quiet the mind, feel the body, pay attention to the simple waves of our internal experience, land in our nature. It is a true coming home, a return to what is real inside, a time to tend to the exhaustion and rejuvenate our souls.

What an opportunity to gather, eat well, mindfully exercise, meditate, rest, enjoy nature, connect both to our depth and to new friends and community. A retreat is an investment in your deep health and wellbeing, a way to tap into the wellspring within. It will pay off tenfold!
